Abstract

This Regulation lays down rules on flavourings and food ingredients with flavouring properties for use in and on foods with a view to ensuring a high level of protection of human health, taking into account the protection of the environment as well. In particular, the Regulation provides for (i) a European Community list of flavourings and source materials approved for use in and on foods (Annex I); (ii) conditions of use of flavourings and food ingredients with flavouring properties in and on foods; (iii) rules on the labelling of flavourings.
