This Decree makes provision in implementation of Regulation (EEC) No. 3220/84 determining the Community scale for grading pig carcases. The Decree is composed of two Chapters and four Annexes. Chapter I is concerned with the classification of pig carcases. All slaughterhouses shall classify and identify pig carcases in accordance with the Community scale established by the Regulation aforementioned. After classification, carcases shall be marked with capital letters indicating the weight category (art. 3). Chapter II regards the checks to be carried out by the Ministry of Agricultural and Forestry Policies with a view to ensuring the proper performance of classification operations.
