The Regulations make provision, among other things, for: registration of abattoirs, hygiene management and evaluation systems, humane treatment of birds in the slaughter process, handling and storage of carcasses and meat, inspection and marking of meat and treatment of condemned meat. The Regulations also contain some rules relative to the importation and exportation of poultry meat and the slaughtering of birds for cultural or religious purposes or for own use. The Regulations seem to apply only slaughtering and meat of fowl, duck, pheasant, guinea fowl, goose, turkey, pigeon, partridge, quail and baby fowl.
