Article 11a shall be inserted. In accordance with this new provision, lysozyme may be used in wine products as long as it meets the requirements set out in Annex VIIIa, whose text is entirely contained in the Annex hereto. In particular, lysozyme may be added to grape must, grape must in fermentation and wine in order to control growth and activity of the bacteria responsible for malolactic fermentation in these products. Moreover, Annex IV to Regulation 1622/2000/EC is supplemented as set out in article 1 (2) hereto.
