Abstract

In implementation of article 60, paragraph 1 of Regional Act No. 27 of 1998, the present Regulation makes provision in matter of taxidermy and embalming and regulates the keeping of taxidermy preparations and trophies. Administrative functions connected therewith are entrusted to the Provinces by article 1, paragraph 2. Taxidermy and embalming are subject to the previous granting of an authorization by the competent Province, in accordance with the provisions contained in article 2. Nevertheless, taxidermists and embalmers at the service of public institutes and entities, natural museums and universities are exempted from the issuance of such authorization. Article 3 defines the species which may be used for taxidermy preparations and that may be embalmed. Article 4 sets forth the duties of holders of the above-mentioned authorization, which include the keeping of a register. Article 6 lays down penalties. Article 7 regulates inspection.
