Abstract Act No. 146 of 22 February 1992 has authorized the adoption of Regulations for revising the national provisions in matter of production and marketing of preserved and non preserved foodstuffs, even if such provisions are contained in an Act. Therefore, this Regulation has amended Act No. 352 of 23 August 1993 in matter of gathering and marketing of mushrooms. The Regions as well as the Autonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano shall establish and arrange under the local health authorities particular centres which are willing to carry out public micologic checks. Spontaneous and cultivated mushrooms can be placed on the market if they belong to the species listed out in Annex I. The marketing of fresh spontaneous mushrooms is subject to the issuance of a municipal authorization (art. 2). Article 5 refers to dry mushrooms, which cannot be placed on the market unless they pertain to the species hereby specified. Annex II specifies the species which can be treated.
