This Decree-Law enters into force 30 days after its publication.
Abstract

The Decree-Law approves the Statute governing the designation of origin (DO) and Geographical Indication (GI) of the Douro Region (RDD). The above mentioned Statute (in the Annex) consists of 5 Chapters defining and specifying the requirements to be met in order to benefit from this certification and is divided as follows: General provisions related to the designation of origin of the Douro Region (Chap. I); Geographical Indication (Chap. II); Designation of origin Douro (Chap. III); Designation of origin Porto (Chap. IV); Final provisions (Chap. V). Geographical maps are appended to the text.
