Résumé

The Present Act defines Norway's continental shelf as the seabed and subsoil of the submarine areas that extend beyond Norway's territorial sea throughout the natural prolongation of the land territory to the outer edge of the continental margin, but not less than 200 nautical miles from the baselines from which the width of the maritime territory is measured. In areas where the Norwegian continental shelf extends beyond 200 nautical miles from the baselines, the King shall determine the outer limits on the basis of recommendations from the Commission for the outer limits of the continental shelf. Further, in areas where Norway's continental shelf abuts the continental shelf of other states, the King shall determine the boundary line in accordance with an agreement with the state in question.
