Abstract The aim of this Regulation is to ensure food safety and consumer protection. The Regulation set forth the general rules on food hygiene. The Regulation covers principles and procedures on each phase of the production of food including its supply to the market, risk analysis, control and inspection. It also sets forth the responsibilities and obligations of the producers. The Regulation further covers general rules on import and export of food. The Regulation is drafted in accordance with European Parliament and Council Regulation EC No. 852/2004 on the hygiene of foodstuffs.
