Abstract

This Order lays down health rules and administrative provisions for the production and placing on the market of fresh poultry meat in order to comply with Council Directive 92/116/EEC. It shall not apply to the cutting and storage of fresh poultry meat in retail shops, where the cutting and storage are performed solely for the purpose of supplying the consumer directly. There are set hygiene rules for slaughterhouses, cutting plants, cold store establishments, re-wrapping centres, etc. It prescribes pre-slaughter and post mortem inspection of carcasses, tests for residues, issuing of health certificates.
