Abstract

This Order regulates sanitary procedures for meat product trade within EC countries. It consists of 10 articles and 1 annex divided in 4 parts specifying sanitary measures to be applied, such as hygiene standards, conditions to be satisfied by meat treating centres, etc. It also prescribes controls to be carried out, meat (including animal gut treatment) packaging and labelling requirements, meat certificate, storage, transport obligations, etc. It lays down sanitary conditions to be satisfied by equipment and meat treating centres, controls on production, as well as a model form concerning sanitary certificate.
