Abstract

State veterinary supervision represents the system of control over the observance by enterprises, organizations irrespectively of their departmental subordination and form of property, by foreign juridical persons, officials and Russian nationals, as well by foreign citizens and stateless persons of the plans of antiepizootic arrangements (including arrangements for the prevention and liquidation of disease common to human beings and animals), organization and carrying out arrangements for the prevention and liquidation of infectious and non-infectious animal disease, protection of the national territory from bringing infectious animal disease from foreign states, veterinary requirements regarding handling, processing, storage and trade of animal products. The principal targets of State veterinary supervision are prophylaxis of infectious and mass non-infectious animal disease and ensuring safety of animal products as regards veterinary and sanitary requirements through prevention, exposure and repression of the violation of veterinary legislation currently in force. The Regulation consists of 4 Sections. Section 1 lays down the general provisions. Section 2 regards organization and the principal targets of State veterinary supervision. Section 3 determines the modalities of carrying out State veterinary supervision. Section 4 establishes the rights and duties of the officials of State veterinary service entitled to carry out State veterinary supervision.
