Abstract This Decree issues the Regulations on food safety. The Regulations provide rules relevant to the quality and hygiene of food in Oman. The Regulations prohibit the food handling in absence of a licence certifying the compliance with the hygiene standards. The food processing establishments shall be far away form sources of environmental pollution. The hygiene standards are specified in the text. The Regulations also concern the sewerage system, safety of food handling, self inspection in the food processing establishment, tracking and retrieving the food, import/export, and the procedures to be done in cases of offences.
