It applies to cattle, pigs, sheep, goats, horses and others. To detect specific diseases, animals have to be examined carefully before slaughtering; should any doubt arise, the slaughtering is not authorized. Part 3 contains procedures for the examination of meat after slaughtering. The meat is declared unfit for human consumption if one of the diseases listed in article 20 is detected. A special procedure governs the preparation of meat for human consumption by special procedure. The Ordinance deals also with the authorities controlling slaughterhouses.
