Abstract This Decree implements Directives of the EC Council as a consequence of the membership of Norway to the European Economic Area Agreement. It allows only substances listed in Schedule I to III to be used (art. 3), specifies purity criteria of such substances (art. 4), and provides for labelling on food products (arts. 5 and 6) and the control of food products by the State Food Control Agency (art. 7). Schedule I specifies extraction agents that may be used for all food, Schedules II and III specify products that may be used only for listed food. These Regulations are amended in accordance with amendments of annexes of the Agreement of the European Economic Area of 1992.
