Abstract This Decree-Law approves EC Council Directive No. 97/60 on solvent extraction used for food production (excluding for vitamins and other nutrients). It consists of 11 articles and 1 Annex regulating the procedures to be applied in order to perform the aforementioned activity and establishing purity criteria, authorized solvents to be used for food or its ingredients, packaging and labelling requirements, etc. Annex lists authorized solvents to be used for treating raw materials.
