Abstract This Decree-Law approves and implements into the national territory the Directive 98/8/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on the trading of biocidal products. The Decree-Law consists of 8 chapters and 6 annexes establishing the requirements to be satisfied in order to perform the aforementioned activity within the Member States. Placing on the market these produts needs an authorization given by the competent institution. Biocidal products must be classified, packaged and labelled in accordance with this Directive. A list of such biocidal products is attached in the annexes.
