It also establishes that veterinary controls and veterinary classification of stabling enclosures for living molluscs (including treated molluscs for human consumption) are under the competence of the General Direction of Fisheries. Control on quality production and on laboratories is under the competence of the Portuguese Institute of Maritime Research (IPIMAR).
