Abstract

The aim is to ensure the health and wholesomeness of bivalve molluscs and marine gastropods intended for human consumption. The treatments set out in Annex I hereto, i.e. sterilization and other heat treatments, which are intended to inhibit the development of microorganisms in bivalve molluscs and marine gastropods harvested in certain areas specified therein, and that have not been subjected to relaying or purification before being placed on the market, are approved by this Decision.
