The Act requires a register of agricultural chemists at the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources and the Environment to be kept. In this register the names of all registered agricultural chemists shall be entered (sect. 5). Section 6 specifies persons entitled to registration: (1) those who hold a degree or diploma in natural or agricultural science, chemistry or agricultural chemistry from a recognized university or institution; or (2) those who hold the diploma of licentiaship, Member or Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chemistry. Section 7 confers the right of title "Agricultural Chemist, registered in Mauritius" upon registered agricultural chemist and, at the same time, denies the right to carry the title to persons not registered as such.
