Entry into force notes

The Regulations shall come into force on the date of promulgation (5 October 1993).

Résumé

These Regulations aim at the management and conservation of wild aquatic animal resources. The competent departments of fishery administration at the central and local level shall carry out surveys of wild aquatic animals on a regular basis, in order to provide the basis for the planning of the protection and development of wild aquatic animal resources and the preparation of the list or revised list of wild aquatic animal under special protection by the State or local authorities. The catching or killing of wild aquatic animal under special protection is prohibited; the catching of wild aquatic animal may be allowed only upon issuance of a licence and for the following purposes: (a) scientific research or production of medicines; (b) education or exhibition; (c) domestication or breeding of wild aquatic animal; (d) other special reasons. Further provisions concern inter alia: (a) the procedure for the application for special licences for catching wild aquatic animal; (b) the obligations of licences holders; (c) the procedure for the application for the domestication and breeding licence; (d) the sale, purchase or utilization of wild aquatic animal under special State protection; (e) the supervision and inspection system; (f) the transport or carrying of wild aquatic animal or products thereof to be effected out of a county; (g) the export of wild aquatic animal under special protection; (h) awards and penalties.
