Résumé This Regulation prescribes the necessary conditions that must be met by nutrition and health claims stated on food declarations, in order to ensure the efficient functioning of the market, while providing a high level of consumer protection. This Regulation shall apply to nutrition and health statements that are declared in commercial communication during labelling, advertising and presentation of food, intended for: 1) delivery to the final consumer; 2) supply of catering facilities, canteens, hospitals, kindergartens, schools, social welfare institutions and other similar entities in the food business that offer food to final consumers for direct consumption. In the case of non-packaged food (including fresh products such as fruit, vegetables or bread), prepared for sale to the final consumer or for food mass establishments where that food is packaged at the point of sale at the customer's request, or which is packaged with intent direct sales, the provisions of this Regulation shall apply as regards the following: 1) information on the nutritional value of food; 2) special conditions when stating the permitted health statement which indicates the importance of a balanced and varied diet and a healthy lifestyle; 3) the amount of food and the manner of its consumption that are necessary to obtain the beneficial effect that the food is claimed to have.
