Entry into force notes
The Paragraph 1 of Article 4 will enter into force after 3 years from the date of publication and the other articles enter into force on the day it is published in the Official Gazette.
Résumé

The purpose of this Regulation is to specify the procedures and principles of the sanitary requirements for the import and transit of certain live ungulate animals. This Regulation sets out provisions on preparation of the list of the authorized countries, publication of the lists, specific animal health conditions, guarantees from the authorized countries, exceptional cases, veterinary certificates and inspections and audits in the exporting countries. This Regulation has been drafted in accordance with the Council Directive 2004/68/EC of 26 April 2004 laying down animal health rules for the importation into and transit through the Community of certain live ungulate animals, amending Directives 90/426/EEC and 92/65/EEC and repealing Directive 72/462/EEC.
