The Environmental Impact Assessment aims at: (a) contributing to the protection of nature and the conservation of natural resources; (b) guaranteeing the participation of citizens in decision-making proceedings. Article 2 of the Act contains the definition of EIA and defines its structure. Article 4 provides for the establishment of the Technical Environmental Committee. Annex A specifies the projects and works which shall be subject to the ordinary EIA procedure; Annex B lists out the projects and works to which the simplified procedure shall apply.
