The Regulations prohibit an industrial plant from discharging sewage whose pH value is less than 6.0 or higher than 10.0 to the sewage system or whose pH is lower than 6.0 or higher than 9.0 to a reservoir, with some exceptions for specific cases. These include, among others, cases in which the pipe at the connection point of the plant to the sewage system or reservoir is made of materials resistant to a pH value between 5.0 and 6.0, cases where the mix of sewage discharged from the plant and flowing in the municipal sewage pipeline is not lower than 6.0 or not higher than 10.0 near the exit point from the plant, and cases where the quantity of sewage discharged to the municipal sewage system is less than 10 cubic meters per day.
