Résumé This Act provides for the establishment and operation of the National Environment Protection Council as a means to ensure that people enjoy the benefit of equivalent protection from air, water or soil pollution and from noise. Functions of the Council are: make national environment protection measures and to assess and report on the implementation and effectiveness, in participating jurisdictions, of national environment protection measures (sect. 12). The Council has power to do all things that are necessary or convenient to be done for or in connection with the performance of its functions (sec.13).
