Abstract This Act provides for the establishment and operation of the National Environment Protection Council as a means to ensure that people enjoy the benefit of equivalent protection from air, water or soil pollution and from noise. Functions of the Council are: make national environment protection measures and to assess and report on the implementation and effectiveness, in participating jurisdictions, of national environment protection measures (sect. 12).
