Résumé

With a view to protecting the environment as well as human health, this Legislative Decree implements the Community provisions concerning the marketing of seeds. The issuance of an authorization by the Ministry of Agricultural and Forestry Policies is compulsory for the culture of seeds pertaining to genetically modified varieties. Nevertheless, the marketing of seeds pertaining to categories permitted by provisions in force before the entry into force of this Legislative Decree is allowed until 30 June 2003. The Commission for seeds of genetically modified varieties shall be established under the Ministry of Agricultural and Forestry Policies within 30 days from the entry into force of this Legislative Decree.
