Résumé

This Law provides for the implementation at a national level of EU Regulations regarding the production, classification, marking and marketing of eggs. Aim of the present law is to establish the competent authorities and specify the procedures for implementing the provisions of Commission Regulation (EC) No. 2295/2003 and Council Regulation (EEC) No. 1907/90. It also establishes sanctions to be applied if trespassing of the provisions of the aforementioned Regulations is verified. Section 4 of the law prescribes that an approval for any request to operate on behalf of a collector or packing eggs centre shall be granted only if the provisions of article 4 of Regulation (EC) No. 2295/2003 are fulfilled. Section 5 designates the Department of Agriculture under the Ministry of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environment as the competent authority for the purposes of this law. Section 8 deals with sanctions. With section 10, the Edible Eggs (Specifications for the Production, Classification, Marking and Marketing) Law of 2000 and the Regulation deriving thereof, are hereby repealed.
