Résumé This Decree provides for the Interministerial Committee on Basic Sanitation. It establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned Committee, as a body established by art. 53-A of Law No. 11.445 of 5 January 2007, with the purpose of ensuring the implementation of the federal basic sanitation policy, by articulating the activities regarding the basic sanitation actions. The Interministerial Committee on Basic Sanitation is responsible for: coordinate, integrate, articulate and evaluate the management at the federal level of the National Basic Sanitation Plan; monitor the articulation process and measures aimed at the allocation of resources for basic sanitation, within the scope of the federal Executive Branch; guarantee the rationality of the application of federal resources in the basic sanitation sector, with a view to expand public and private investments in the sector; prepare technical studies to support decision-making on the allocation of federal resources under the federal basic sanitation policy; and evaluate and approve guidelines for the application of federal resources in basic sanitation.
