Résumé The present Regulations have been adopted in implementation of EEC Regulation No. 2082/92, relating to certificates of specific character for agricultural products and foodstuffs. First of all, regulation 4.1 designates the Malta Standards Authority as the competent authority for the purposes of the EEC Regulation above-mentioned. Following receipt of an application for registration in the register of certificates of specific character, the Authority shall check that the application is justified and shall forward it to the European Commission. Regulation 6.1 refers to the inspection structure to be established with a view to ensuring that agricultural products and foodstuffs carrying a certificate of specific character meet the requirements laid down in the specifications.
