Résumé

The Animal Husbandry Labeling Act aims to improve transparency and accountability regarding the husbandry conditions of farm animals, empowering consumers to make informed purchasing decisions. The Act specifies that foods not meeting certain husbandry standards must be appropriately labeled, including categories such as barn, barn+outdoor access, free-range, and pasture-raised. The labeling must be easily accessible, complete, clear, and incur no additional costs for the consumer. Additionally, the law regulates labeling for food sold remotely and for non-prepackaged items, requiring labeling on the remote sale medium or easily accessible and permanently available for remote sales, and on a sign or in close proximity for non-prepackaged items. Violations of labeling regulations can result in fines. The Law consists of 43 Articles divided into 6 Parts and has 11 Appendixes.
