Résumé An Ordinance to implement EU regulations on the production of brandy. Article 1 establishes that, according to EU regulations, only certain substances are to be used for the production of brandy. Thereafter the Ordinance deals specifically with the production of German brandy. Unless the product has been in wooden casks for at least 12 months, the label cannot bear the indication of the age. Article 4 deals with the requirements to obtain a registration number, and article 5 with the control of products. The minimun alcohol content is indicated in article 7. The Ordinance consists of 15 articles as follow: Wine brandy or brandy (1); German brandy (2); References to age (3); Application for an examination number (4); Examination procedure (5); Specification of the examination number (6); Article (7) is deleted; Sugaring of certain spirits (8); Spirits with geographical references (9); Definitions (10); Identifications (11); Offences (12); Administrative offences (13); Transitional provisions (14); Entry into force (15). The Ordinance consists of 4 Annexes and in the last revision Annex 4 is deleted.
