Résumé

These amendments implement provisions of Council Directive 91/628/EEC relative to the breeding of animals and their transportation. By a an Order in Council certain categories of animals may be subject to regulation of stockbreeding of those animals, registration, identification and certification of those animals, investigation by the breeder of defects of the animals that may possibly harm their health or may affect their offspring. Assistance for the implementation of the Act may be sought from professional branch organizations or sector associations. Some provisions of the present Act concern enforcement measures for the protection of animals in transport, such as feeding of animals, blocking of transport, slaughtering of animals, etc.
