This Notification enters into force on the day it is published in the Official Gazette.
Resumen

This Notification lays out rules for the production, packaging and placing on the market of raw meat, minced meat, poultry minced meat, processed meat compounds, mechanically deboned poultry meat and meat products. This Notification shall not apply to meat extracts, melted animal fat, tallow, gelatin, salted or dried blood, and salted or dried blood plasma. This Notification sets forth provisions on the specifications of raw meat, minced meat, poultry minced meat, processed meat compounds, mechanically deboned poultry meat and meat products; the requirements for the retail enterprises; transport, storage, sampling and analysis of these products; and offences and penalties. The rules concerning the use of food additives in meat and meat products are governed by the Turkish food codex regulation on food additives (Article 10), rules concerning the use of flavourings are governed by the Turkish food codex regulation on on flavourings and certain food ingredients with flavouring properties (Article 11), rules concerning contaminants in meat and meat products are governed by the Turkish food codex regulation on contaminants in foodstuffs (Article 12), rules concerning pesticide residue limits in meat and meat products are governed by Turkish food codex regulation on maximum residue limits of pesticides in foodstuff (Article 13), rules concerning veterinary drug residue limits are governed by the Turkish food codex Regulation on residue limits classification of pharmacologically active substances in foodstuffs of animal origin (Article 14), rules concerning coccidiostats or histomonostats residue limits are governed by the Turkish Food Codex Regulation on maximum levels for the presence of coccidiostats or histomonostats in food resulting from the unavoidable carry-over of these substances in non-target feed (Article 15), rules concerning hygiene are governed by the Regulation on food hygiene, the Regulation on special hygiene rules for food of animal origin and the Turkish food codex regulation on microbiological criteria (Article 16), rules concerning the packaging of meat and meat products are governed by the Turkish food codex regulation on materials and articles which are intended to come into contact with foodstuffs (Article 17), rules concerning labelling are governed by the Turkish Food Codex Regulation on labeling and provision of food information to consumers (Article 18), rules concerning nutrition and health claims on labels are governed by the Turkish Food Codex Regulation on nutrition and health claims made on food (Article 19), rules concerning the addition of vitamins and minerals and other substances are governed by the Turkish Food Codex Regulation on the addition of vitamins and minerals and of certain other substances to foods (Article 20), and rules concerning food enzymes are governed by the Turkish Food Codex Regulation on food enzymes (Article 21).
