"Genetically modified organisms" are plants, animals, microorganisms including cell cultures and viruses, in which the genetic material has been altered in a way that does not occur naturally; "reproductive genetically modified plants" are genetically modified plants in a phase of life where sexual or asexual propagation takes place. Activities involving genetically modified microorganisms, including cell cultures and viruses, are classified in four classes.
