Abstract

This Order makes provision with respect of: import and transport of genetically modified organisms intended for research, large-scale experiments, production, test release, teaching, display and other types of dissemination of information; notification of the National Forest and Nature Agency in connection with the marketing in Denmark of genetically modified organisms for which approval has been granted in a another member state in the European Community. "Genetically modified organisms" are plants, animals, microorganisms including cell cultures and viruses, in which the genetic material has been altered in a way that does not occur naturally; "reproductive genetically modified plants" are genetically modified plants in a phase of life where sexual or asexual propagation takes place. Activities involving genetically modified microorganisms, including cell cultures and viruses, are classified in four classes.
