Resumen

The conservation objective of the Selja River Landscape Protection Area is to protect the valley of the Selja River, the historical land use and settlement structure characteristic of the region, forest and semi-natural communities and rare, endangered and protected species; Habitat types listed in Annex I to Council Directive 92/43 / EEC on the conservation of natural habitats and of wild fauna and flora; protected species listed in Annex II to Council Directive 92/43 / EEC and their habitats. These species are river lamprey (Lampetra fluviatilis), salmon ( Salmo salar ), bivalve molluscs ( Unio crassus ) and brownfish (Cottus gobio); and the protected species of grayling ( Thymallus thymallus ) and its habitat. The land and water area of a protected area shall be divided into two special protection zones and one restricted zone according to the specifics of the protection regime and the degree of restriction of economic activities. A protected area is located in the villages of Karepa, Kiva, Pehka, Rutja, Tidriku and Varangu in Haljala rural municipality, Lääne-Viru county. The Regulation consists of five chapters: General provisions (1); General principles of the protection regime (2); Special protection zone (3); Restricted zone (4); and Final provisions (5).
