In particular, the Regulations set limits on the amount of radiation the public and nuclear energy workers can receive. The Regulations require that every licensee implements a radiation protection programme keeping the amount of exposure to ionizing radiation as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA). Dose limits are also defined in the afore-mentioned Regulations. The text - consisting of 26 sections – deals with the following aspects: interpretation and application, obligations of licensees and nuclear energy workers, Radiation Protection Programme, ascertainment and recording of doses, provision of information, radiation dose limits, dosimetry services, labelling and signs.
