Abstract The present Act lays down provisions relating to the surveillance and control of transboundary movement of waste. In principle, waste disposal shall be carried out in Germany; however, if this is not possible, a country of the European Community shall be preferred to other third countries. Article 4 establishes that the relevant authorities of the Länder are responsible for the waste disposal.
