Among the strategic objectives of the Rural Development Programme 2014-2020 (PDR), it establishes the "Promoting efficient management and protecting measures of resources that contributes to the Priority 5" - "promoting resource efficiency and supporting the shift towards a low carbon economy and resistant climate change in the agricultural, food and forestry sectors". The PDR identifies the need to continue to improve Energy Efficiency and promote the use/production of renewable energy on the farm and use for energy purposes of agricultural and forestry by-products.
