Abstract

This Resolution approves the strategy to take towards climate change. For this purpose the Portuguese state wishes to: a) Ratify the Kyoto Protocol; b) Fulfil the emission limitation objective; c) Observe and study the nations climate and caracterize its vulnerability; d) Broaden the extent of sectorial policies and measures; e) Potentiate the resort towards market mechanisms; f) Study forestry and soil agricultural use management; g) Broaden public awareness especially to the younger elements of society; h) Broaden the role of the Climate Change Commission; i) Establish an operational structure for climate change; j) Develop and improve an information and communication system.
