The Regulation is completed by one schedule listing prohibited substances, weed seeds and plants, toxic compounds, and antioxidant, minerals and urea. The new Regulation deals with the following matters under the Stock Foods Act 1940: (a) the declaration of certain matters for the purposes of the definition of "foreign ingredient"in section 3 of the Act (clause 4 and Column 1 of Schedule 1), (b) the prescription of certain matters for the purposes of the definitions of "stock"and "stock food"in section 3 of the Act (clauses 5 and 6), (c) the labels and written statements to accompany packaged and bulk supplies of stock food (clauses 7–11), (d) the restriction of the maximum proportions and amounts of foreign ingredients in stock foods (clause 12 and Schedule 1), (e) the taking of samples for investigation (clause 13), and (f) other matters of a minor, consequential or ancillary nature (clauses 1–3 and 14). This Regulation adopts a table of maximum residue limits from Maximum Residue Limits: the MRL Standard—maximum residue limits in food and animal feedstuff published by the Australian Pesticides Veterinary Medicines Authority.
