Abstract

These Regulations prohibit the sale of meat produced in or imported into South Africa and placed on the domestic market that do not meet quality standards as prescribed by these Regulations. The Regulations also define quality classes of carcasses of bovine, sheep or goat and prescribe quality standards for each class, prescribe rules relative to marking of carcasses with abattoir identification codes and other marks and the marking of meat.
