Abstract This Regulation defines the processing aids, stipulates their health safety and permissibility of use for individual groups and types of food, including the rules regarding the permitted residues in food and conditions under which individual processing aids may be used in production (some of the techniques and substances here regulated: antifoam agents, boiler water additives, catalysts, clarifying agents/filtration aids, contact freezing and cooling agents, dessicating and anti-caking agents, various food detergents, enzyme immobilization agents and similar; flocculating agents, ion exchange resins, membranes and molecular sieves, lubricants, release and anti-stick agents, moulding aids, micro-organism control agents, propellant and packaging gases, solvents, extraction of production of flavourings, washing and peeling agents, and other processing aids).
