Abstract The purpose of this Regulation is to promote good welfare and respect for animals through the enforcement of penalties for the violations of the Animal Welfare Act provisions. The Norwegian Food Safety Agency shall regulate and enforce the Animal Welfare Act’s provisions, including decisions thereof in the violation of animal living conditions, medical treatment, transport and release of animals in the wild (articles 4, 6-7, 9, 11-12, 14, 22-24, 26, 28).
