Abstract

This Regional Act lays down several amendments and addenda to Regional Act No. 14 of 17 May 1994 which regulates hunting in the Umbria Region and contains significant provisions for the protection of local wildlife. As per article 6 of this Act (which supplements article 13 of Regional Act No. 14), the Provincial Wildlife and Hunting Plans shall determine the zones where hunting is forbidden by guaranteeing the destination for programmed hunting of a surface of not less than sixty percent of the provincial agricultural and sylvo-pastoral surface. Article 10 fixes the minimum distances between the protection oasis, parks, nature protected areas and forest domain , repopulation and capture zones and public and private centres intended for wildlife reproduction. Article 12 lays down provisions relating to the granting of concession for the establishment of wildlife hunting enterprises. Article 20 supplements Title V of Regional Act No. 14 concerning the permit which is required for hunting. Article 25 contains several penalties to be applied in case of violation of the provisions hereby laid down and set forth in Regional Act No. 14 of 1994.
