Abstract

This Regional Act lays down provisions in matter of genetically modified microorganisms, in order to prevent harmful effects to human health and to the environment that may arise from the cultivation, production and consumption of GMOs. Therefore, the Tuscany Region prohibits the cultivation as well as the production of species which contain GMOs (art. 2). Foodstuffs containing GMOs marketed within the regional territory shall meet the labelling requirements established by Council Regulation 113
