Abstract The Basilicata Region recognizes milk-based products with traditional characteristics which are: a) historically recognized, or b) obtained through the technical criteria and processing methods listed in the Annexes to this Act. In accordance with Decision 97/284/EEC, the regional authority may grant to establishments which manufacture the above-mentioned products individual or general derogations from the requirements set out in Directive 92/46/EEC.
