Aim of the present law is to establish the competent authorities and specify the procedures for implementing the provisions of the aforementioned Regulations. It also establishes sanctions to be applied if trespassing of the provisions of those EU Regulations is verified. Section 4 of the law prescribes that no poultry chick facility can operate without a license. Section 5 designates the Department of Agriculture under the Ministry of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environment as the competent authority for the purposes of this law. Under section 6 are set forth the designation and competencies of Inspectors. Section 8 provides for the establishment of penalties and sanctions. With section 10, the Poultry Chicks (Production and use of eggs for hatching) Law of 1999 of and the Regulations issued under of, are hereby repealed.
